Hi I bought the RC4 bass kit,got it all stained lacquered and buff out, neck glued on.I was attaching the pots to the pickguard ,just to see how they would sit, they aren`t sitting flush. There is a little metal nub sticking up on the pot, does it need to be filed off?Or is there a trick to get it to sit flush?I will attach a picture

Hi Strawbfan, welcome to the forum.
The nibs on the pots are to stop them rotating, so you either have to drill a corresponding hole in the pickguard or file it off

They snap off quite easily with a pair of pliers. Just rip em off!!
cheers,
Gav.

Yep, pliers and bend them down, they'll either bend or just snap off. If you look at the lower right push/pull pot in this pic you can see I've bent the tab down.
