We only get Rose Tattoo up here and just the one gig in Sydney on 11th with all 3 bands. Melbourne & Adelaide get Wolfmother but no Tats.

Wow, what a concert. Here is a link to the review done by the local Brisbane Newspaper.

This is the main axe Slash used for most of the night....

17152

He also played a couple of BC Rich's like this, one red and another green....

17153

And this one on another song.....

17154

This double necker on Patience and maybe another song....

17156

And this classic was played on Knockin' on Heavens Door.....

For me a big highlight was when both Slash and the 2nd guitarist did an instrumental cover of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here where Slash took a back seat and let the other guy cut loose. Absolutely awesome.

On a scale of 1-10, ACDC were a perfect 10 and these guys were close, maybe 9 or 9.5 just that Acca Dacca had a bit more variation in what they did and thus engaged the crowd more than the Gunners did last night.

Were they loud? What did you say??? Not as loud as Acca Dacca but within about 90% I reckon. Shame I had an early morning management meeting at work today as that limited me to about 4 hours sleep after the grind of getting out of the venue and then driving back up the coast to get home.

If you are thinking about seeing them on the rest of their tour and you have the coin and there are enough seats, you just gotta do it. You won't regret it.

Cheers, Waz

Good one Fred.

Rose Tattoo were a bit lame in comparison to the main act but did ok. I think Sydney get Wolfmother as well over the weekend too?

Looks like it's Rose Tattoo Friday night, and Rose Tattoo & Wolfmother Saturday night...
There's 2 gigs in Sydney, looks like they added one.

I took my 24 year old Niece along with me as her Dad bailed out at the last minute and as we were heading into the stadium on a bus I asked her if she felt out of place by not having any tattoos (neither do I) to which she rightly pointed out that I was probably the only person on the bus not wearing black! Just as well I had my grey GNR T-shirt on otherwise it would have looked like an older bloke had gotten on the wrong bus haha.

good stuff Waz sounds like a choice show. They come to Perth Tuesday week I'm thinking of going. Wolfmo are support here.
Are you comparing to the Rock of Bust tour AC/DC ? Myself and DB went to that (think November 2015) was an awesome and loud show ! Just before Brian Johnson had to stop because he would have gone deaf !

Yep... I'd better get back home to change before I go there Friday night... not sure the business suit will work too well! :-)

Hey Woks, spot on the money with Nov 2015 Rock or Bust tour. From memory I recall that Axl Rose completed that tour when Brian Johnson pulled out and some youtube footage shows he did all right.

Dead set Acca Dacca was the loudest gig I have ever encountered where my ears were still ringing 36 or more hours later. Jimmy Barnes takes 2nd prize as I have seen him a few times in different sized venues and one down the Gold Coast at the Playroom which might be Tallebudgera or Palm Beach was memorable. It was New Years Eve and the band I was in at the time were doing a gig at a pub or surf club a few km's down the road. Did the countdown, played a song and took off where everyone else was, at Jimmy's gig. As you walked in the venue you could feel the sound pressure wave hit you from the bass drums and bass guitar and as we walked into the main open part of the room it was deafening.

GNR last night comes in 3rd loudest. They played really tight and no time gaps between songs like at the ACDC gig up here. Just love the tone Slash gets out of his equipment and he also knows how to dial in the right amount of light and shade.

He's "out of uniform" :D

FredA

Yeah. Axl joked that Angus didn't have his school uniform, but that he was wearing his school jacket. And Axel turned to show that he was wearing and AC/DC school jacket. Pretty cool!
