Now that summer is here, it is time for a few tips to help you get the best results with your DT finish.

1. Do NOT apply when the temp is over 30 degrees centigrade.... not many finishes or paints like it when its hot!
2. Be mindfull of the humidity.. anything over 50% and you may notice curing times are longer..
Try and find a room where you can control the humidity.
One of our guys discovered that hanging the body in a cuboard with one of those de humidifier worked a treat.
3. SUPER THIN coats.....
4. Don't rush it! The finish is the one thing that can make or break a build... When I am building, the finish application is the one part of the job that takes the longest time to complete regardless of what finishing product I use.
This can take up a four to six week period of time as I like to ensure that each coat is completely cured.
5. Have fun!

And two of those are beer.

Well; 1) beer and 2) more beer.

Tip number four is definitely one to remember, one of the reasons why I had problems with my Gold Strat build was that I got impatient.

Tip No.3 is where I went wrong on the EXA-1 in the first finish effort. I have been adhering scrupulously to 3 and 4 this time around and the results are far, far better.
