So here's my first PBG build.
Completed with Tonerider Hot Classic neck p/up, Kent Armstrong Dual Rail bridge p/up in an aftermarket modern bridge, Dingo bone nut, Grover Mini Locker tuners, Dingo Clear neck finish and Tru-Oil on the body and head stock (just love that stuff!). Body was done with a light black wash, a blue burst then finally scraped the bindings. About 14 coats of Tru-Oil with plenty on light sanding to level between coats (6 coats on the back, sides and head stock) then finish with fine liquid car polish and a coat of wax. Plenty of work but a satisfying outcome. Love the Tonerider pickups too. Plenty of grunt with enough spank thrown in for a hot Tele sound at a good price to boot! Enjoy.

Love the colour and figuring on this one, ILR. I don't normally go for greens or blues over natural grain - but I get a really pleasant bluejeans vibe from it. Are the pickguards your own design? They're minimal, but add a good colour contrast. Nice job.

Thanks G-Axe. Yes, my own design. I wanted to show off the veneer as mush as possible, so I went looking at retro and art deco designs for inspiration. I tried to keep in style with the body shape.

Thanks Andy.

So during the crazy weather we had early in the year, the neck twisted like Chubby Checker in a washing machine. A new neck from PBG was ordered and fitted. Still have some fretwork, string trees and adjusting to do but thought you might like to see it. Sorry for the poor lighting.

White gloss paint on the head first, one coat of clear gloss, water decal applied and dried, then hit with more clear gloss.

love the headstock rethink ILR, the graphic it great as well. It echoes the last one but seems cleaner and ties in nicely to your reduced scratch plate. Shame it was necessary to replace the neck but it think that's come up a treat.

nice work - both headstocks look great. I like the minimalist pickguard and the way it shows off the top

SO... I had some time on Father's Day to myself and decided to re-wire this baby.

I thought I would try some 'vintage' wiring as the tone wasn't quite right for me. It was getting a little muddy as I rolled of the treble and there was not much to play with before the mud started.

After the re-wire...WOW! what a difference. The tone is a lot tighter, even with the treble rolled off, the tone is clear. There is also much more tone width to use. Add a little overdrive and I swear. I'm Albert Collins (in my dreams).

I can highly recommend trying vintage style wiring if your tone is not quite right.
