Yeah, both look good and would be happy with either. Just felt the burst looked more classic 1970's era.

Both look good apart from the '70s block markers. I really have an abhorrence of '70s Fenders. I know that there are a few good ones, but the bad ones? ...and then the really bad ones?

Excellent vids El (as usual), I'm sure you won't mind me adding these to the Product pages for both colour variations (both Elm with Maple FB).

Mate, I know when I see a master at work.

You have inspired me to practice even harder to hopefully one day be able to be somewhere near the same postcode as your skill level.

Love your silky touch Eliot. So smooth and tasteful.

I am lucky to be alive as the only delivery that arrived out my home today was a package from PBG containing PUP's, pots, caps, & nuts for the latest Tele build.

Had the foresight to bring home flowers last night to soften things up a bit but didn't expect that delivery to arrive until tomorrow. Only time Auspost arrives early!

Indeed, Bass Guy, no regrets. Far exceeded my expectations. A good solid sounding Bass that plays well out of the box. I give it 4 Stars.

Sorry mate, your '4 stars' reminded me of hearing that bloke doing his Choppa impersonation on the Merrick Watts MMM radio program every Friday afternoon, and yes, he can be very rude but in a funny kind of way.

Didn't mean to offend and hoped you had a chuckle.

No no no, you misunderstand completely, that was also a Choppa quote.... YouTube Chopper Weather Man. I won't post it here because of language...

Well, the Devil is on my shoulder again.....

After being told I'm up for another extra shift tomorrow night... (that's three this fortnight)... I found myself wandering aimlessly through Ebay when my shift partner tells me that the British Pound has dropped considerably against the Aussie Dollar, so I log myself into Ebay UK to look for a bargain, and a nice set of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders magically appears coming in at $130.00 landed.
Unused but with damaged packaging, well I don't care about packaging, and as long as they work properly and are unmarked, if they were used, I probably wouldn't mind.
So I pulled the Trigger..... there goes my Strat Kit for a while longer.....

But I have always wanted a set of Quarter Pounders..... This Bass is gonna Kikass!!!!!

Kick

High Mass Brass Bridge and Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders added together with some copper shielding. Pickguard needed a little filing to allow the neck pickup in.
Not convinced that the control plate is right..... Now waiting for some of Ernie Ball's Regular Slinkies to finish it off.....

Finally decided on a Black all over theme..... No Kiwi Rugby influences here.....
Would like to source a Black Jack Socket and Nut if possible...

The Seymour Duncans really give it a solid kick.
I am absolutely loving this Bass now.....

You might find the black parts at Jaycar, Real Parts, or there is always Ebay but you need to make sure whether you need metric or Yankee thread.

Like the upgrades. Looks really classy now.

Still has the stock strings on it and I am certain that it will be much better when I put some Ernie Balls on it in a few days..... Might record a couple of scales then..... and again when my new Speaker arrives.....
But it will only be on my phone.....

Thanks Zandit, The quality of the finish on this thing is really quite impressive, especially for the price.....
I'm hoping to finally fire a shot in anger with it this weekend, Jammin' with a couple of guys that I have never played music with before.....

Hobastard

Well the 'Bull served me well for twelve months until the Musicman came along and sadly it's time for me to move it on.
I still enjoy playing it and it still sounds great, But 5 Basses and no standard 4 string Fretted Bass is not a useful collection.
It has to go to make way for my latest acquisition, A Fender MIJ Jazz which is also kitted out with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders.
They don't sound dissimilar and I reckon any potential buyer will be suitably impressed when they compare the sound of the 'Bull with the Fender.
I will always recommend these Basses to anyone looking for a low priced but great value Instrument.

It's been a Pleasure.
