This is not my idea, credit gos to the owner below...

Quote.......This is just one of the dozens of videos, Chris Monck, maker of Highline Guitars, has posted documenting his building process. Instead of the usual waterslide, Chris came up with this alternate process that he says makes the logo easier to bury under the clearcoa,t as the edges can easily be feathered.

Hope this helps anyone apply a logo, im going to try it.

Great idea.
Very similar to this video too. I was thinking of doing an entire guitar body with this technique.

Man, that's so cool. I've been thinking about decal alternatives, and this definitely looks worth exploring.

I wonder whether it is workable with tru oil as a finish. I'm assuming you'd have to do the gluing over the tru oil, as the glue residue will interfere with the oil application, but then I don't know if you could seal it... Will have to do some experiments

Hi John, TO seems to go over almost anything but best to do a test run just to be sure.

Cheers, Waz

Yeah, I might chuck some glue on some scrap timber tomorrow and then TO over it on Monday to see what happens

For what it's worth, I did a test and the TO does seem to sit over PVA, but it also colours differently to the surrounding wood, so it's super obvious. I'll do another one tomorrow with TO underneath as a sealer (ie TO then PVA then TO).
