Hi all,

I am currently building my first build. Its a TLA-1 with tonerider pickups. Not sure if anyone has noticed but the Tonerider bridge pickup is too large for the cavity? Whats the best way to make the cavity larger? I have been thinking of buying a cheap router from bunnings as a last resort.

Thanks
David

I used a drum sander in an electric drill, you dont need to remove much.

Hi David welcome to the forum. As suggested a small sanding bit in a dremel/electric drill or careful use of small chisels. If you think you will have use for a router in future that is the best method

Thanks guys. Bought a dremel. It did the trick in about 2mins.

sounds good Flanno. The Dremels are a very versatile tool so sure you will get plenty of use out of it. Before you go to much further do a mock build, and please post the measurements centre of 12th fret wire to both the E saddles of the bridge ? In most cases the bridge pup cavity is too far south so don't pack away the dremel just yet ! distance to low E should be no more than 330mm and to high E about 324-325mm. Wind the saddles as far forward as they will go.
Be best if you started a build diary then keep us updated at progress of the build

Dremel?

Router?

Drum sander?

Nah.

There are very few problems that cannot be solved with the application of the correct amount of C4 and a speed 8* detonator.

:p

I think he wanted to end up with a useable guitar, not splintered fire wood haha.

Splintered guitar would mean the incorrect application and amount of the aforementioned C4...

It is a fine line at that scale.

whenever I see this thread come up it's shorten to "best way to enlarge..." I'm always expecting to see some Chinese spam for blue pills
