My late best mate did that onstage to his P Bass back in the 70's, thought he was Hendrix.

Right until he passed away he still played that fire scarred P Bass, but he never lit it up again haha

No wok i will see if i can dig out a photo at some stage, it was mainly damage to the top bout. I think he realised after setting it on fire it wasnt a smart thing to do, he was about 18 at the time.

I thought it was an interesting idea up until 20 - 30 seconds into the video. By then, I thought his intention was to incinerate it.

I guess seeing someone do that to a strat would be enough to make you cringe, Jimi Hendrix was probably the first one to pour lighter fluid on his guitar and set it on fire, then he proceeded to smash the guitar against his amps and onstage, and then he flung the pieces of the guitar out into the audience, Dweezil Zappa now has that very guitar, he managed to get it put back together into a playable state.

End result looks good but wouldn't have the guts to attempt doing that as my Oh Crap moments seem to be occurring way too frequently these days.
