This is an Harley Benton CST-24HB Tortoise Flame Deluxe Series. These are made in China and sold by Thomann out of Germany, not expensive guitars by any stretch...but they don't come in a kit for all that I can see.

Perhaps a similar design in a kit has potential.....

:(big frowny face.

I like the style too, but I would prefer it in a kit to put my own spin on it.

Gee, I like that. I don't know how, but I would find the money for that kit.

I think they have copied Patrick Eggle guitars more than PRS.

The body shape and end horns appear immediately different to me, from a PRS design

Yes any smaller ES style LP or Gretsch 5420T, 5422TC, 5435T, 5620 & 22T. But also look at Epiphone's Wild Kat.

It does look rather nice.

Speaking of Joyo I have a Joyo power tank for my pedal board

Hey Gav, check this out then..... https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_cst_24hb_tortoise_flame.htm

That's around AUD $300 plus freight. Not bad for a finished axe that looks so cool.

I support any Semi-hollow version of a cool body shape, so I support this for sure!

Semi-Hollow Strat kits too pls :D

After checking the 'Harley whatever it is' out online last night almost pulled the trigger and bought one. Thomann have a decent range of these things and they do other styles too. Looks a bit like a UK version of the Artist Guitars we see out here, just different shapes and PUP offerings but similar build quality from what I could tell.

This hollow body Tele with P90's for Euro 177 looks very tempting....

Holy heck, they have Fanned Fret guitars for absurdly cheap too...

17330

For 350 freaking bucks, if I had a little more dosh to spare I'd be heavily considering slamming it down...

I'm a touch worried about QC and international shipping. But heck, if it holds itself together and just needs a bit of fretwork and maybe hardware upgrades (which seems to be the general consensus from what I read,) that sounds super worth it to me.

Mrs DK and I are off to Europe in September and when we were at the travel agent and had them knock a grand off one of the items I suggested that would give me the readies for another guitar.

I'm lucky I survived the look so as tempting as it might be I don't think I'll be able to pull it off :(

Might need to donate/sell an organ on a stop over in SE Asia on the way over instead if the missus doesn't perform that operation on you already without using any anaesthetic haha.

I could buy a new MIA Fender every year for what my racing costs so I'm not going to argue.

That's without breaking things or crashing and I did both last year, broke a gearbox ( don't ask ) and a grand for the crash plus close to another grand in lost entry fees.

Racing is like playing music live or surfing, if you haven't done it you won't ever understand

Sounds like boats, just a black hole that keeps sucking in lots of your hard earned cash. Thankfully we don't crash guitars too often and their repair bills are not as expensive either.

You can jump on a ferry and know what being on the water feels like, but a crowd of 10000 and massive sound or going into a corner at 200kph is an entirely different thing, never stood on a surfboard or owned a boat though

I had a very short motorcycle racing career. 1 meeting. Cost me heaps, including a shoulder and a collarbone and 8 weeks off work.

Was awesome fun though...

You can make a small fortune in motorsports, just take a large fortune and go racing....

It's just for fun, no trophies just bragging rights afterwards.

Five meetings per year six years racing won one round, truckloads of fun though

Sounds great Dave. We all need an interest in something that still brings excitement and an adrenaline rush otherwise life can be rather dull.

Same here, 1 meeting, 2nd in the first timers race, 3 fourth places and then removed the head and installed the pumpkin going for a second place on the last lap, and went out in an Ambulance....
But I achieved my goal lap time the previous lap...

Thomann are well known for having a great returns policy - at least within the EU where the shipping is fairly local. If there are any issues with a product, they will very quickly send you a printable pre-paid return label. At one point a few years ago when the £ was strong against the €, Thomann was generally the cheapest place to buy musical equipment from, and shipping was always well organised and only took a couple of days so there was no real benefit in buying from the UK (apart from supporting your local retailer). Nowadays the £ is much weaker against the Euro, so it's now only occasionally cheaper.

And now of course, PBG have the PSH-1 kit. https://www.pitbullguitars.com/shop/guitars/pit-bull-guitars-prs-1h-electric-guitar-kit/

Just a shame about those oversized joke F-holes.

But the burst looks a bit different now. A bit less impressive. Of course there will be individual model variations, but unless you order ten and just keep the most impressive one, you'll always be reliant on luck. Or you go to the physical Thomann shop (though it's a long way from Hamburg).

I think I'll just keep on wanting for a little longer.... I can't justify BUYING another guitar, my husband will freak out.
I've been at the Thomann shop a few times as a teenager, but it's better it's so far away, now that I'm earning my own money... :D
I'd be living under a bridge in no time, with 45 guitars or so.

If you're belt can't keep your pants around your waste because your wallet is too heavy, this just came out - it's only 5x the price of the Harley Benton, but you get pretty wood binding and a Piezo system:

I can't quite figure out this kit, but I think I like it. Is it kinda like an offset Piezo? https://www.pitbullguitars.com/shop/guitars/pit-bull-guitars-gpr-1m-electric-guitar-kit-maple-fretboard/

Not quite sure what you are asking there DM. There is no piezo in this kit that I’m aware of.

That Thomann guitar was probably the prettiest guitar I've ever personally handled; I was blown away taking it out of the box. But within 30 minutes I had a return authorization going :(

You get what you pay for.
