It's been a while since I last won GOTM... August 2012 to be precise. As there were no other entries, Phil and my JM-1 in Bunnings Can Blue was the clear and deserving winner. (This guitar now resides in DB's "spares" bin).

So, here is my latest effort, a TL-1 with flame veneer in Gold:

9559956095619562

Ok, I didn't build it exactly, but I did pay our factory to make it, along with a selection of other, equally sexy looking, finished 6 string guitars.

I hope to have them all up on the site tonight. This is just a "sneak peek" of one of them (that I particularly like).

Edit: inb4 Gavin1393, yes, I know, points off for for leaving the plastic on the neck pickup cover. I didn't want to deprive a future purchaser of the pleasure of removing it themselves.

wow that is stunning Ads, for a minute I thought you built it and you have much improved on your building skills.
Lovely colour and that flame pops nicely. I would have darkened the flames a bit but still a stunning axe

Wokks - you've seen some of Adam's first attempts - an improvement of this calibre would be miraculous.

haha agreed Bman, I've seen an early Explorer build of Ads and he drilled out all 6 tuner screws holes through the headstock face haha

Glad Ads is sticking to the business side of PBG and DB is doing the builds and kit upgrades/mods !

HEY!! Unfair!

I don't remember the tuner screw holes, but I do remember "trimming back" the neck (yes I actually cut the neck, not the neck heel, the neck and fretboard) because I couldn't get the scale length right. Of course, the scale length was correct and I ended up with a nice gap between the shortened neck and the neck pickup.

Yes, I think my skills are best employed anywhere but building guitars.

Check this out though:

I can't build 'em but I can order them.

Yeah, quite nice isn't it Weirdy. My only complaint is that the f-hole finish is pretty rough (on the visible inside edge). Next time I will get them to bind the f-hole.

How difficult would it be for the customer to bind it? I'm thinking we could bind them here before we shipped them, or provide the binding for the customer to DIY if they think it needs it.

It's the Royal "We", DB, which, yes, means you.

Ads - I appreciate your new creative exploits - chasing down nice kits and now completed guitars - as a bass player, that red tele does look tasty!
