This would have to be a cheap and easy one for the factory. A 3 or 4 string cigar box with a single pick up.

Hi Dedman, most the parts for a CBG are cheap and readily available online so doubt Adam would order in CBG kits.
That's where my guitar building started and love the sound of them !

Got one in a million bits ready to go together as soon as i get 5 mins, i make them out of biscuit tins mainly although i do have a good supply of cigar boxs. I tend to give them away to mates because they gather dust.

looks cool Tony, I know the feeling when you get spare time to work on other projects !

so is that bracing you put all around the edges of the biscuit tin to support the neck ?

An experiment because without it the whole thing is too light and has no mass, thats just what i had on hand, i will do some thinner stuff. The neck itself goes all the way through and out the back and its a 3 string.

Glad i went and took the pics, now i know where a couple of my missing sockets are :D

sounds good Tony. I used to brace the insides of the thinner Cigar boxes and did a neck through as you do

nice Tony, so are these like a piezo you stick near a sound hole or one that's part of the bridge ?

I've seen some cool looking guitars made from an oilcan.

Silastic them on to the inside of the tin, even under an old penny works well, its all about keeping down the feedback.

I also convert old radios to amps, well used to, they work great with a CB

If anyone has a spare actual cigar box I have a somewhat crazy idea for graphics on one, so even if the labe is cactus its use able to me. Happy to pay plus the postage costs.

Could a mod move this thread? I think it's gone off topic, sorry.

Cigar boxes are extremely hard to find in Finland and you have to buy them online unless you have connections. These boxes in usable shape and form cost from 20 to 50 euros and for that reason I made my own. At least Crimson Guitars sells these kits from UK - just started so don't know how good the sales are. I think there are a lot of people who are in to these in EU.

I've got a custom CBG, which was made for me by Mark at http://www.buzzboxmusic.com.au.

As far as I know, its the only one of its kind in the world.

Also pictured is a custom case I made.
