This is what DingoBass told me in a PM...

"Nitro Cellulose works well over DT.
General rule of thumb is any oil based finish will work, just avoid any poly, epoxy or two pack stuff."

Thanks mate

What is Nitro Cellulose? Is it a clear finish in a pressure pack can or do you spray on with a gun compressor etc?

Hey southernman,
You can get Nitro in a rattle can from Guitar Australia.

Thanks Dingobass
Can I have it sprayed in Acrylic by a panel beater?
Or will car type paints react?

I would avoid using any type of acrylic on timber..
I remember our Jarrod used to paint his builds with acrylic and over time it began to do some funky things...
It went milky, cracked in some places and generally ended up looking like crap..
Not Jarrods fault, as he knows what he is doing :)
