OK Peeps, who can tell me what this jig is used for?

First correct answer gets a free Dingotone kit of their choice, a custom cut MOP nut and six months in the Naughty Warehouse for being a smarty pants...

Bet this one drives you all nutso :)

(Pitbull staff & Moderators excluded, international peeps get MOP nut and free neck setup on their next PBG order)

looks like it has about six marks at the bottom and possibly four at the top, something to do with nut slotting/calculating

although depending on the size of the vice, making bridges

Yeah, that's what I thought cutting bone to the correct height, length and slotting.

Plus all the white dust on the vice. Didn't think about a bridge.

stan

if we get it between us , i'll go you halves... but my money is nuts or bridges, heights, slots, shapes, string take off angles

Cutting/filing nuts to correct height

wokkaboy

to get the correct curvature of the top of the nut ie a radius. Wider nuts to the left, narrower nuts to the right of the jig.
DB for the prize do you mean a custom cut bone nut ? MOP might be a bit brittle and expensive !

stan

Cutting slots once the curve is done. Nut goes in vertically, moveable piece is an angle guide

OK. To be fair, Crusader had the right answer...
So what I will do is this.
Crusader gets a MOP nut and Stan gets the Dingotone :)

Let me know what you want the nut cut for, Crusy
And Stan, your colour choice

dingobass
10-11-2015, 05:49 PM
Oh, and I forgot to mention the correct answer is trimming nuts to height before radiusing

stan

Well done crusy and thanks DB! Will get back to you on that, so many nice choices

@ Stan the beer and pizza is very good so you better tell your family you may not be home for longer than 6 months !

You just got to put up with DB occasionaly on the loudspeaker growling when you break any rules or order an Iceman or Mosrite kit haha

Thanks heaps for the fun DB, the line (Bet this one drives you all nutso) was the biggest give away.

I have a custom PRS style PBG-N3E neck on order a nut to fit that would be fantastic.
I am hoping to do my own inlay work on it as well, maybe I'll have time while in the naughty wharehouse?

Thank you so much.
