Hi people,
So the ST-1 kit turned up today ( oh-yeah ) and the daughter says yes I want it that colour but with black crosses on it. Is it difficult to paint a pattern on top of a solid colour, and should I then put a clear coat on top?
Thanks in advance..

Hi Neil,
can you please post a rough sketch of the layout your daughter wants ? If the crosses will be large then you should be able to tape it off and paint the crosses or get a stencil made up in vinyl could be an option.
If the crosses will be small then I think a template/stencil would be the only option

Hi, sure. What I'll do is get her to do it. Once done I'll post it up.
Thanks
Neil

Cut out stencils would be the easiest way
and yes to a clear over the top

Hi Neil if you know a signwriter best get them to cut the crosses out of some vinyl or clear contact. Put down your base colour, then put the vinyl over with the crosses cut out. I used this method to get the stars on the Australian flag.
Otherwise get some contact or adhesive vinyl and a sharp blade and cut the crosses out.
Good luck let us know how you go !
