Also, at what stage in the guitar building process does it become necessary to bust out one of these bad boys (see pic), coz they look like fun!

so you mainly use yours for cutting fret slots DB, any other uses ?
I've used them in your man cave and they cut fingerboard slots like butter

I mean I've heard of Japanese pull saws before but the shear size of those bottom 2....

Yeah I've used those saws too. They feel great and cut extremely well

yeah DB's Japanese saws are that size Barge.
Think they look bigger in the picture because of the size of the Crimson guitar dudes scone !
