Hey guys. just thought id do a bit of a diary of my scratchy. this is just gonna be a random dump as things have been super hectic of late. first bub is due any day now so just setting up shop for her arrival.

basically i was playing with a super strat idea when a friend contacted me to build them a guitar, so a quick pine mock up and we were in business!

this was for a surprise birthday present for her partner so as she wast a gear head, it was a little hard to get the specs in the ball park. a few probing questions regarding favourite bands and a budget and we had a plan!

Top wood is bookmatched queensland red cedar http://i.imgur.com/IuMg6ze.jpg
body is silver ash http://i.imgur.com/DPUENuz.jpg
neck is an amazing st rosewood specimen from PBG. i emailed adam to see if he could throw in a nice dark neck, and mang did he come through. http://i.imgur.com/7z9Rzw4.jpg

wow well done Andrew, love the build, the shape and the thick cap it looks very cool.
Did you get a sound demo before it was sent off ?
Best of luck with the new baby daughter !
I'll have a read in detail when I get time.
Love the control cover, how is it held in ?
Looks like the headstock is shaped on a bottle opener !

yeah i did mate, i felt kind of guilty playing it though, kind of like when you were doing something you weren't, so you tried to do it as quick as possible before your parents came home haha. so please be mindful of my piss poor playing through the camera mic. signal chain is the monarch through a 6505 doing all the tones, clean, crunch and lead. uploading to youtube now, will post a link asap

oh, and i just finished work a little before that so my hands are all dry from rendering haha. theyre not dirty, just the lime in the cement makes them look like you have a mad skin condition til you go all feminine and moisturize.

thanks stan. it was actually an order. i had the timber on hand, they just told me what their partner is into, and we went from there, worked to a budget and built the axe!
