I needed to remove a bridge post that was tightly embedded. Let's search for some cheap resources..

1. Cheap cherry pipper from the kitchen

2. A bit of plastic lid for shielding body

3. The bridge post screw

Take the cup off the cherry pipper. Cut plastic shield to protect guitar. Cut hole in middle of this so screw can go through. Then screw through hole in cup, shield around stud and screw the thing in. Keep on turning and voila! The stud is removed. Cost - almost nil

Really nice Andrew! Certainly beats my clumsy use of the claw hammer! Very cool idea.

cheers,
Gav.

no explosives? Not impressed....

Actually very cool use of found objects. Note to self: cherries not pitted at Andrews place....

Could also use some thick washers or oversized nut

I will add that one to my extensive list of post pulling devices....
This one is one of the best ideas I have seen to date, thanks for sharing Andrew :)

this must be the best method I've seen to remove the bridge post, thanks for sharing Andrew.
Looks like the cherry pipper is the perfect height so there's enough thread to reach the post.
Now I'll have to find a shop that sells a cherry pipper

Woks, yes just enough thread comes out the bottom for this to work. I've also managed to use same gadget on a post that was sunk flush with the body.

ok sweet cheers Andrew, it's amazing what you can find and convert to be a useful tool
do those cherry pippers work for olives as well ? Might buy 2 then, one for bushes and one for olives/cherries

Not sure on the olives, im a bit lazy and buy them already depitted (don't taste as good though..)!

haha no worries cheers Andrew, I usually buy depitted olives too, get sick of spitting the pip out.
I have to agree olives that haven't been pitted do taste better. Especially with a nice glass of red wine
We might have to start a food and wine thread mate ! haha
