Hey guys,
I am a massive Muse fan here (I even met Matt and the others when they were last here in Melbs :D), and for many years I have dreamed of owning a Manson MB-1, one of the the custom guitars that Matt uses on stage and in the studio.

Thing is.... It costs ~AUD$6k EXCLUDING shipping!

But I found a site where you can get it a buttload cheaper and customise it to your liking! http://www.rareelectricguitar.com/Matt-Bellamy-Manson-MB-1-Black-Signature-Guitar-sale_1032.html

Now to save the pennies for my own.....

Works for me. Rare Electric Guitars are one of those Chinese counterfeit sites. Chances are if you tried to import one, it would be held up in customs and probably destroyed. Counterfeit guitars are becoming a real problem as too many people are trying to resell them as the real deal.

Yeah Pabs that is a big deal but mine will have a different decal on it, so wouldn't that make it legal to be imported?

It should. These are not very good quality guitars though. For the $800 plus it will cost to get this one you could easily build your own or hit DB up to shape you a body. Might even be able to afford the kaos pad to go along with it.

Quick Q to all,
If i buy this and get a different decal on it, is it still legal to import into Oz?

Best ask customs by emailing them at information@customs.gov.au
Give them all of the details and await a response.

I would assume that even with the name removed they would still have issues with it as the site openly states that it infringes on trademarks.

Technically, it's legal. But, these guitars are seriously hit and miss. Some are ok and just need a good setup to be playable. Some are firewood. None are ever great. $800 is way too much money to throw away.

Well Pest someone here has already made a pseudo-Manson. You could do the same.

@Fretty: Yeah I was reminded of Matt's axes when I first saw the PBG-2! This one will be a full replica of the shape though, hopefully DB can get it 1:1!
@KB, those pads are the same ones I'm getting for my build!

Agree pabs, you could get a very good 2nd hand guitar for that sort of coin, or a good few kits...!

Yeah I am going for the scratch build route. DB will do the body / neck and I'll pretend it's a more expensive PBG kit!

This will cost like $1.3k total if the prices don't change much and this will be very deluxe!
