I like Reaper a lot and use it to record our rehearsals, couldn't get Cubase working to my satisfaction and then there is the not so minor price differential

I'd love to try reaper but I so can't afford $225 :(
Being on disability sucks. It's why it's taking so long to get my first kit. I have to put some aside each month.
One day. :D

I could do that I guess. Not really how I want to get it but everything I've read about it says it's great. I've read articles saying there's reason to buy the super expensive progs anymore with reaper on the scene.
Sucks being poor dude!!! :D

Yeah roger that:-)
I used a cracked version of FL Studio for a couple of years then bought a legit copy once I had the spare bills.
You gotta try before you buy man!

There is only one version of Reaper and if you use it for personal use the Full Licence fee is $60. That's a bargain for a fully featured DAW. The $225 fee is for commercial use.

Refer to their Fair Pricing Policy on this page
http://www.reaper.fm/purchase.php

I have been using it for a while now and its great for my MIDI stuff (VSTs etc) but my crappy computer has so much latency that it is impossible to record guitars etc.

Rob its $60.00 dollars no need to buy the $225.00 version
Here you go Fair Pricing
There is only one version of REAPER. We offer two licenses, depending on how you use it.

$225: full commercial license.
$60: discounted license.

You may use the discounted license if any of the following is true:

You are an individual, using REAPER only for personal use.
You are an individual or business, using REAPER for commercial use, and the yearly gross revenue does not exceed USD $20,000.
You are an educational or non-profit organization

The $60 dollar version is not limited or disabled in anyway .

I use the $60 licence, have a good read because as I see it ( and I've read a lot of contracts over the years ) you can still do personal stuff even as gigging backing tracks or individual recording but can't use this licence as a studio producer of multiple acts.
