We're posting Tele collections now? Let me get my camera.

But seriously, that is some collection of Teles. Wonder what he does to be able to afford to buy them all.

My first electric was a Tele. After decades and dozens of other makes, models I'm back to Tele.

This is my rather modified Affinity Squier that my "real" Tele owning friends hate me for. $150 for the guitar and about $330 for the upgrades and it'll hang tough with any American Tele that costs 3-4x's as much.

Seymour Duncan Antiquity "57" in the neck and a Seymour Duncan hot rail in the bridge.
Top hat switch tip off a 50's Tele.
Switch plate from a destroyed '52 Tele.
Heavy knurled tone/vol knobs.
Pots and wiring all higher end Fender.
The bridge and saddles are from Guitar Fetish.
The body is 2 piece Alder.

The Hammer Of The Honky Tonk Gods ( Bill Kirchen song )

Back on the subject of Alistair, Before I retired last year one of his mates worked for me which is how I got to hear about the ABC show.

Apparently the vast majority of them are not special issues or vintage and are kept in a climate controlled environment

Hey Rob, what year is that Tele? Squire released some awesome Tele's in the 80's, this looks like the color/model we affectionately called the 'chicken soup' Telecaster.

HAHA!!! Never heard it called that before!!! I have got to remember that!!!

It's supposed to be based off the '52 (of course until I changed everything) and it is the "classic butterscotch blond".

I don't remember the exact year but it was late 80's if I remember right. I got it as a quick replacement and only played it for maybe a month before I got a "better" guitar. In the case it went and sat for years under the bed.
About 7-8 years ago I got it out and rebuilt it into what it is today.

That's a crap ton of Teles for sure!
I just want 2 more to go with mine. :D

As much as I like guitars especially Teles I look at all those and wonder how much difference there is between most of them.

Well I guess there is a burst, a BSB, a black, a red etc from each year ( you get the idea ) then you throw in the Cabs and Esquires from the same years in all of the colours would add up pretty quick and drain the bank account at an alarming rate.

Another guitar collector from your side of the pond is Scott Groves, proper gigging muso who really does polarize opinion ( well worth a youtube search but have your beer and popcorn at the ready )

Yeah I'm quite familiar with Scott Groves for sure.
I tell peeps if you watch his vids make sure you don't have anything to hit your screen with cause he will piss you off sooner or later. ;)

He really does have some good things to say it's just there's a line between confident and arrogant and he lives of the side of arrogance.

I just love the rugged ultra grainy definition of this Tele body.
Just wish I owned a really decent sandblasting oufit . . . . .
