I've just added some tools/jigs to my Lutherian armoury.

Because I'm too poor/stingy to shell out for professional gear, I've gone mad building my own.
It kinda started when I discovered freehand routing is NOT a great idea unless you have rock solid arms. I discovered the answer would be an edge guide - which I made from scratch. Now I have stability in the X and Y axes.
Next problem was tackling binding routing - I soon figured out that a "proper" rig would be imperative for a decent result . . . so I looked at the stuff available & modded an old drill press (see pic. 1 back left) to do the trick. Fortunately I had the makings of a .060" bearing type rebating bit in my existing set.
Then, while I was at it, I decided to knock up a 9" flat disc sander I'd always wanted for all sorts of jobs including guitar work. Luckily I scored a busted bandsaw and "upcycled" it albeit with a modicum of swearing and angst.

Really neat work Max ... particularly converting the old bandsaw into sander (absolute stroke of genius! :D)

Great ideas Max. That belt sander is wicked.
