Just getting into the whole guitar building thing - really excited.

I would love to see an RC-2? based on the 600 series of Ricky with the "Cresting Wave" style body. I used to own a 610 that was stolen from my house in a break-in. Of all the things that were stolen that one hurt the most because I knew that I would never be able to replace it ... but maybe I can :D

I noticed with the RC-1 that the fretboard is not raised above the body. The "Real" model of most of their guitars have a huge clearance between the fretboard and the body with the pickups basically on top of the body rather than recessed into it. Would love to see that style implemented into an RC-2.

Scoop that's a bummer about getting your prize axe stolen. Adam may be able to order you a custom version of the RC-1, will have to wait for him to respond. It usually takes at least 3 months to be built and arrive here

Thanks Wokka - The theft was many years (decades) ago now, but the pain of loss still lurks.
Don't worry about any custom orders or anything.
I thought a 600 series ricky might be a good addition to the already extensive list. If that doesn't pan out I might try to work myself up to a complete build from a blank ... eventually.

Base of the kneck looked all wrong. He had a router so why in gods name would you rasp the edges. Hollowing out the body was rough.

very interesting video Scoop, amazing how much of the production of Rickys are still done by hand. I'd love a system to cure clear coats in under 4 minutes.
Impressed with the quality/quantity of the production !

The 4 minute finish is highly toxic....
Our good friend Perry Ormsby uses it on his builds and he told me he once got a very small whiff of the stuff and he was crook as for hours!

Imagine what that stuff does to the environment......

yeah good point DB, I remember you telling us that story. Best to stick to natural curing and wait (helps to have multiple builds on the go !)

I was watching this vid where they were mentioning how toxic the production was and how the company decided to scale back production rather than move the factory from California to a location that would let them be toxic ... so that is something at least.
