Hello from Tasmania (moved from any Qld a year ago for work )

Just purchased an EX-1 from EBay and this will be my first build. Asked a question regarding the stud spacing for the first bridge as I have a Tone Pro that I wanted to upgrade the stock bridge with. Unfortunately I didn't get an answer before purchasing but Adam kindly replied yesterday and mentioned that the bridge won't be a straight swap and the stud holes will need to be filled with dowel and re-drilled...which is cool.

Big plans for the body with a mate of mine owing me a favour with an awesome airbrush graphic, but I'm not sure on the colour yet. I have a set of Seymour Duncan AHB-3 Blackouts to slot in for pickup duties and the stock tuners will be upgraded to either a set of Gotoh or Schaller.

I'm a huge fan of Mr EVH, Nuno, Metallica, Pantera etc (insert old school thrash here) but also love my blues and rock. I have a number of high-end signature guitars and amps but this build is the one I'm really looking forward to as it'll be my signature. No doubt I'll have some questions along the way...

Regards

Matthew

Does anyone know if a neck through body is possible in a custom order? I understand that there will be an increased cost for delivery due to the size.

Welcome Matthew, glad to see you are in full swing - getting ready for the next order before the first arrives - you will fit in well here.

Your plan sounds really cool, dont forget the build diary.

On a side note: the Ministry of War and Finance has just sent me a text stating that my package has arrived - let the build begin in earnest.

http://halen.com/evh/modules/PNphpBB2/files/front_angled_118.jpgHi Fretworn :) I love that guitar but I remember reading an article where Eddie spoke about ruining it. From memory the body is Koa or Korina and sounded really sweet pre-modification. In one of his drunken bouts of 'creativity' when he cut the back out of it, it apparently significantly altered the sound in a negative way.
