Hello All

This is actually my second Pit Bull guitar that I picked up in the 2nd anniversary sale. I received this today and am excited.

As a Fender fanatic this is the first time I have touched a Gibson style guitar in 30 years and my first attempt at a glue-in neck... hence my question on the neck joint. I have clamped the (glue-in) neck to the body. The neck fits snug in the neck joint, has no side-to-side movement and is flush with the bottom of the neck route. However there is a gap between the neck binding and the body (especially on the bottom side).

Is this normal for this style of guitar? My next step (once I have some spare time) will be to mock build to determine string clearance etc. Maybe some refining of the joint required?

Any feedback appreciated.

Perfectly normal...You get this due to the neck break angle :)

DB, thanks for the confirmation. Now on with the sanding and a build diary!

Hey Andrew, I got a couple of half price LP-1M's and did a very quick mock build and mine looks the same with the gap of the neck binding and body on the treble side
