Here is my MK-2 Johnny Ramone tribute build.
Everything is stock except for the bridge pickup which is a DiMarzio FS-1.
The body finish is white spray can auto acrylic with acrylic clear coats.
The neck is stained with Colortone Vintage Amber dye, and clear coated with Tru-Oil.
The headstock decal is an Andy special.

Hi Gavin, I saw your build diary on another site, which made me order a couple of these kits - I even ordered the DiMarzios! Very nice work!!!

We have two Mk-2's in process , one to keep and one to use as a promo giveaway. . We used Duplicolor lacquer for the base and 2k clear (awesome stuff!) on the Mosrites. The Strat was off the shelf Camo paint, in fitting with our theme. It's being cleared with a satin poly. The white one should be finished this week, the black one soon enough. I'll update the pics once I get the Photostream working again on my computer ;-)

We had to CAD up the pickguards for our customized panels -- if anyone needs a DXF file for the the MK-2 or ST-1 pickguard hit me up. And yes I know the HB is mounted from underneath :-)

I'm curious how you routed the ground from the volume to the bridge, there are no vias in the bodies. Thanks!

Completed the Mosrite takeoff MK-2. A couple of items still have to be resolved, setup and bone nut modification. Guitar was finished with about 5 coats of Tung Oil. May fab risers for the pickups to reduce the distance from the strings. Plan on taking advantage of the zero fret, but do not have my bone nut files as of yet.

44562 it4456344564Had alot of fun doing this ,I learned alot,The burst is far from perfect but I'm happy with it and it plays well.Put a hot rail in the bridge, wasn't a fan of the stock pickup at all,The hotrail has def given it some balls.
