18-08-2014, 12:19 PM
Well I have been working on new designs and this is my Nebular I am making myself. Body number two but serial no.1 as it has the neck now done for it and will be first completed. Tasmanian Blackwood with a Zebra wood 7mm cap. Neck is also Blackwood and just waiting on some rosewood so I can make its fretboard . I have machined the pickup surrounds from Blackwood also. This one is going to be a hard tail but my next will be the full floyed Rose set up.

Been a bit off "color" was in St Vincents on Monday for an angiogram. They would have put another stent in the old ticker then except their were no beds available.. They sent me home after a few hrs with the old rat sack and a large hole in the right arm (at least it wasn't in the groin area this time..lol)to stop any further clots and looks like they will do the next stent on the 8th of sept.
Hope to be able to get a bit more posting done on the forum again.

I must say that the quality of the work by all the guys on the forum is just outstanding.
might ask if you can send me a link so I can "drool" over the specs of you machine Jarrod :)

Thanks Brendan,
Well little update. Back from offshore so I machined up the fret board with abalony dot inlays a 10" radius and binding on the edge. Then glued it on the neck and fitted the frets.

Well Im now waiting for some cherry red dye for head stock and my black schaller 3d locking roller bridge should arrive soon. Did a quick mock build whilst waiting for clear to cure on the body before I polish it up. Aiming for .07mm or .003 thousands of an inch thick with the clear cut and polished so it can pass the DB tone test. So its now had 4 coats cut back inbetween ( broke through twice so I know its thin) thank god my dyes can be mixed with acrylic clear so a quick re dye and a light coat fixed that nicely.

jarrod
03-09-2014, 09:22 AM
I don't have the cutter yet but to be honest it takes 10 mins on the saw jig. However to do fan frets and multi scale which is next on the menu then yes I shall be cutting them on the cnc.

that moment when you know you have created the best guitar
Your fingers have ever touched. I can't begin to explain the tone the harmonic sustain that comes out of this thing. Bet thing I did was listen to DB on wood choice. So the run down,
Tassi Blackwood body
Zebra wood 7mm cap
Rosewood fret board
Tassi Blackwood neck
Stainless steel frets
Gotoh tuners counter bored into the headstock
Abalony neck binding
Abalony fret dots
Shaller 3d bridge
Tassi Blackwood machined pup surrounds
Tonerider rock song pups
Bourne pots
Orange drop caps
Shaped and cut bone but
And a few secret processes to get the clear .008" thick
Video to come but for you metal heads this thing blew my mind.
