Well home for a short while till monday so I thought I would test it out on a bit of Pine before I go for some pricey wood. Man Im very pleased with the results. Accurate and 3d mills a treat. Check out the precision of the pickup and neck pockets.

Thanks gents, yes Wokks put a bit of Jarrah in to see how it copes with soft to hard wood and its flawless. Cuts are clean and no thicknesser required as I faced it down to size. Now to get some of DB's tone woods and see how a neck goes. Made it to a pitbull neck and the fit is a very precise light push fit. (perfect). Back in a couple of weeks Wokks so the AGM can take place at the mancave then. Work is really starting to get in the way of play time at the mo.

That's a rough cut? Can I have your test runs? I couldn't do anything that neat in a lifetime.

Looks pretty!
My only concern is mixing hard and soft woods, but for a test play why not?

So jealous. Would start by building every guitar I can't afford and then every wild shape I could think of. Don't think I would ever leave the shed with one of those lol.

Body done. Back control rebate done and string ferral holes in with counter bores for flush fitting. 3d milling done too.

sounds good Jarrod, pencil in the AGM in 2 or 3 weekends. You better hide all your naughty products before DB rocks up !

That is just gorgeous, Jarrod. And don't worry about everyone else, you can be as feral as you like. Even bogan if you want to ;)

Well the first off got a coat of shellac to seal it and 2 coats of clear acrylic today. I'll give him a couple of weeks to cure as my IR heater is being used else where :(

It's just not fair - I want a CNC. NOW... (say it in a whiny kid voice to get the full effect of my dismay)
It looks amazing Jarrod

Jarrod, yeah, it looks totally ferral, I agree with your earlier assessment, I'll drop by and help you out by getting rid of it for you - just so you can spend time working on another one...I'm ever helpful! hahaha

In truth, that CNC body looks sensational!

That is very, very nice. What kind of bridge are you using? I can't figure out how your string throughs work.

Oh cool, nice bridge. It must be the angle of the picture, doesn't look like there's that much room behind the pickup rout.

jarrod
02-08-2014, 08:01 AM
The bridge and the pick up ring are butted up together (slight design floor) but thats why i cut it out of cheap wood to get things right for the more exotic wood to come.

Dang, by the looks of it your next one will be schmick. I was kinda hoping to see an oddball bridge design. :)
