Hi

As far as I can see (and apologies if I have missed it), but there does not appear to be any requirement to sand or apply a finish to a rosewood fingerboard. The exception being a personal preference for Ax Wax or similar.

Is this correct?

If so, what is the best approach to remove a couple of minor scratches/marks that were on the fingerboard when it was unpacked?

Thanks

Stuart

It's up to you what you do . I use Brehlen fingerboard oil, well it's actually Lemon oil.

I've used 400 or 600 grade wet & dry to remove scratches.

Same here. I use 800 grit with fret oil (just lemon oil and some other stuff) works a treat.

Agree with everything above...stick the sandpaper to and ice lolly stick.....helps get in between the frets without scratching them!
