OK Guys, for those of you who wish to perservere with your GR I have come up with a simple work around.

First up, you will need a chunk of tree about 120 mm long and 20 mm wide by 20-30 mm deep and another chunk to make the leg.

I used my very handy needle profile thingy but you can make a cardboard cutout to match the profile of the top.

Mark out the profile and off we go to the bandsaw (or rasp) to cut the profile out.

Next up check that it makes good contact and then glue the piece in and clamp.

Next step is to cut the leg to length and profile the bottom to match the back profile.

Jam the bugger in with lots of glue!

Then with a chunk of tree and some padding, clamp the whole shebang down.

Time for a ciggie and a coffee whilst the glue sets. 8-)

Simple and effective - they way it should be

I'm sure a similar method could be used to beef up the block in the tail as well, on those kit that need it

Yeah, Stan. I had a look at the block in this kit and I reckon it is plenty strong enough as these Guitars are so light....
But, I will defer to the Gavmeister on this as he is the Acoustic Luthier and knows more about these things than I :)

Next up is the neck pocket...
As you can see, there is a canyon between the neck and the side of the pocket.

Work around? Easy, a couple of thin wedges did the trick!

Glue and clamp them in place...

Pest, years of experience coupled with lots of standing around scratching goolies working out the easiest and most effective workaround. And lots of swearing...... 8-)
