Ultpanzi, if there is enough interest, or if you want a custom order, Adams arm may be twisted to ask our manufactures if it is possible for them to make a kit.

When I put forward interest in an Eight, Adam was a little concerned that it may be beyond the capabilities of the factory. However that was nearly a year ago, so now it could be a possibility.

If they can put together a six string bass, this should be a possibilty.

Ok all you 8 string fanatics, in spite of my reluctance to support your excessive string adventures, I have asked the factory for a price on an 8 string kit. I will advise their response when received. 8 Strings, well I never...

I just bought the IB-1 (couldn't resist the fretboard) so once I've accumulated some money to spend I'll be interested in an 8 string guitar kit, but I was just surprised you didnt have any with the amount of Ibanez style kits you had.

It comes down to what is popular. We cant possibly stock every type of Guitar out there.
This is where you guys come into the picture.
With enough interest in a particular style of kit we will endeavour to get them in limited numbers.
The EB4 is a recent example of this.
Other than that, we are always willing to ask our supplier for a quote on a one off custom kit :)

I'm trying to imagine what a 12 string bass would sound like with three strings to a course. Surely it would be quite muddy.

Whilst we're on the topic of extended range instruments.. Is there opportunity for a hard tail 7 stringer?

If you've listened to Cheap Trick, Kings X, Pearl Jam or Galactic Cowboys you've heard 12 string bass.

How the hell do you know this shit, Fretty? Do you need to get out more?

I'm a big fan of both Kings X and Galactic Cowboys, and I know they got into 12 string bass from Cheap Trick's Tom Peterson. The bass player from Pearl Jam was a King's X fan and picked up 12 String bass from them.

And me I just remember useless music facts... it's a blessing/curse.

Gotta admit, an eight or twelve string bass does have some appeal. Not certain I would do it, but it definitely has appeal.

Au contraire, they ring like bells. The other two strings in each course are tuned an octave up from the standard bass.

The trick is to tune one of the higher strings slightly flat so it gives a natural chorus effect. The music store I used to work at had 2 of the Hamer 12-strings. I adored them.

I am still wondering how the hell you can configure the the tuners on the headstock.... Guess i will have to do some research....

Sorry folks, it's a no on the 8 string guitar, they just don't have the hardware for it. Maybe sometime in the future if there's enough demand, but not right now.

8-strings are getting very popular here in the states with the progressive metal guys...

I for one would buy one the instant it launches.
