Hi all,
again started this build about 2 weeks ago so starting a build diary now.
1st pic shows the sanded body, this is a spare body from a SG-1F kit I bought for a scratch body SG project.
Second pic shows Feast Watson black stain on the cap to make the flames pop

I didn't get a photo of the black stain sanded back but next stage was 1st coat of blue stain. Wayne got this online and still won't tell me where he got it from but its a nice shade of blue, much darker than azure lagoon.
Wayne's FV-1G is in the picture with the same stain

next did a mock build test and found out the new SG-1F kits have a different neck heel and a small notch had to be cut out so the intonation will be correct

Love the black grain. Maybe the blue dye is a colortone? Sure looks like it to my eye ;). Looking very sweet - two awesome builds at the same time Wokka!?! Amazing.

cheers,
Gav.

@ Gav T --> could be colourtone, I don't really care where its from, I love the shade of blue
@ Stan --> yes a bone nut going on, my days of using the supplied plastic nut are over
@ Gavmeister --> nice idea mate but unfortunately Wayne isn't a Dockers season member !

Paint his guitar in Eagles colours or at least threaten to!

The feast Watson colours have come up well. But watch this space as I hear some evil chuckling coming from a man cave in your vicinity.....

thats a better option Gav, although I'm thinking gold bling for this axe will make it almost an Eagles colour axe !

I finally finished this build, this was an early beta testing of Dingotone bondi blue and faded to grey. I lost interest in the colour and it hung for months. Ended up doing the back/sides in FW black, few more coats of tru oil and bolted it together with gold hardware and GFS crunchy pat pups. I've grown to like the look its more of a vintage look. Have to resize the control cover, the body was an earlier kit and the cavity shape has since changed. Sounds ok for little setup and have to sort out the coil splitting. I'll upload a sound demo soon

here's a quick sound demo. Note with the new gopro mount you can hear the strings acoustically quite clearly but different angles to the amp the amp sound cuts through

Nice work and nice playing Wokks me boy.
Umpteenth build and every one's a winner!
The colour appears to have tinge of tan/red in the photo, is that like is really is?

thanks heaps fellas.
@ Gav, good point just turn the amp up and won't hear the strings acoustically !
@ Andrew/Fretty, cheers fellas been so much fun building every axe in the 'green' room
@ Maxaxe, must be how it looks in the photo, there's no tan/red stain coming through, just grey and black
