IT ARRIVED TODAY!!!! When I got the courage to open the box I almost cried at the beauty that was inside, but then like every rookie I started going through all the bits and Bobs and I was like what in all bajeebus have I gotten myself into? But I think I drooled over it for a good hour or so. But I have come up with a few different Designs. I think if I had to pick my top three these would be it!!

Going rattle can or stain? #'s 1 & 2 will be amazing with stains - #3 would look great in something like Golden Sun with some rattlecan black stripes on it - check the forum, I think there's an amazing looking red & black version of the same around...

What sort of pickups are you going - depending on style I think PBG have got a great range from the Entwistles (I reckon HV's look great) through to ToneRiders. Alternatively, stock is an option...

I Think I'm Just going to stick with the Stock For now and I think in the overall Probably Staining will end up being the way I go, I just went like design crazy! i think im up to like my seventh Design now and its Just trying to figure out what I want it to look like...(which is impossible because i like everything)

...if you chat nicely to Adam, I'm sure he may give you a discount if you buy all six additional kits at the same time! That way you can try out all your designs!;)

I wish, however 1- My girlfriend would kill me because then I'd never have any time to anything with her and 2 that requires money so unless we are talking monopoly money(in which case I'm in) but i just cant afford it! However It will happen one day the Mach 1 will have all the original Designs! But that Day is a long long way away! :)

Hi Buddy. Sounds like you haven't even started but you're addicted already. You've posted three really cool looking designs. The purple and black sunburst does it for me. Especially if it had zebras. Have fun building. I'm keen to see what you go with.
Cheers

The LP-1M... I started here with the LP-1 (basically the same) and I had a blast doing it! Take your time, ask questions and always have fun!

Now you have to follow dingobass' mantra of "Sand, sand and sand again, and when you think you have sanded it enough, give it to your wife to sand again!"

Update time I have decided that I'm going to go with the Purple and Black burst Design using Wudtone Black Magic Woman and Amaranthine, just have to get the money organised and be able to get into a workspace. Cause I have no shed at my house or any sort of area. Once that's organised ill be good to go... SO EXCITED EEEP!!

Scott, please just be VERY aware that Black Magic Woman is probably the most difficult (after Olympic Girl) to get an even coat applied to the wood. Don't let my comments put you off though. You MUST MUST MUST follow the instructions that come with the colour EXACTLY otherwise you may end up with a blotchy burst.

If i was to use onyx instead and use alot more base coat would it have the same colour as Black Magic woman?

Scott check out Sam's SG-1 on http://www.pitbullguitars.com/?page_id=42&mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=971.1 - image http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/dac9x-WP_20140128_007.jpg - that's an SG in basswood using dark onyx. Pretty black to me. Have been lucky enough to see some after shots of it with some topcoats and it's getting shiny as well!

Scott, Dark Onyx is more of a blue-black than the straight black that Black Magic Woman has,I used it on my LP and it still creates a cool looking burst with the maple!

Yeah maybe Dark Onyx will work better with blending wise because of the purple. Thanks guys :)

Scott - looking great. Great that you're enjoying the process - that's the most important bit - second is that you get something you can be proud of at the end and have a ball playing!

Nice colour choice Scott. What brand stain are you using?

Nice photos too. I think many of us have had the feeling that brings a big grin to the face...and that is how the kit building addiction starts :)

Cheers

Looking very purdy so far, but the grin makes it for me. Your tshirt reminded me of our small motorcycle riders group... The Sons of Antiquity (yeah, 'cause we're old). We even have our own logo (and stubbie holders).

hey mate how many coats of polyurethane did you apply? I'm thinking of using it for my next project. Did you sand in between coats? Great job btw
