G-day
so to start of a new build we begin with slamming 2 bits of QLD wood together in a fookoff big jaws of death,

been drawing for a few hours now so this is the plan!
since the Camphour Tele is no more, I decided to use some ideas from there into this one in memory of a good guitar!
so Squirly is now being born!

fitting the trem flush with the deck so went through a few test cuts in some scrap pine and found the golden numbers

Oh, liking the look of this! If it's not too awful a question, what happened to the Camphor Tele?

the owner of the donated wood decided it wasnt donated anymore, so not to bow down to money grabbers I decided give his wood back

Friggin awesome.
I don't think I've ever seen controls back behind the bridge like that before. Great idea.

Thanx!
and no screws on the face at all! I dig that part, Actualy am moving the jackplug input to the back as well behind the centre tone knob area, so will be making a little plug for that hole in the front OOPS!
it will be fine just gonna cut a slug out the grain in the stock just behind it and fill it with that..i thought of the placement but forgot I had already drilled the face...oh well next time less haste!

Does look pretty amazing. Is the neck a CNC job as well?

Thanx !
it is! but not my handy work, was done in Korea about 6 years ago..just raided one of my guitars for it...next on the list of things to do is neck construction with my machine...ive already started thinking about designs for my dremmel to be mounted at 90 degrees and fit a nice small wheel and cut fret grooves with a perfect radius as well ... wont be too long now...
cheers

What type of pickup selector are you using in that semi-circular cut?

VanHaydn
06-03-2014, 02:25 AM
thats a standard 5 way with the arm bend 90 degree's and fitted flat against its side

sounds unreal Haydn, you are really building a good looking guitar that plays really well and with a floyd rose is another challenge getting them setup.
Congratulations on another excellent build. This CNC machine allows you to punch out builds so quickly !

Thanx Gents..
Ok all reassembled and setup after clear...very nice action and sounds great now that ive done the setup like it was planned ...what a lot of work went into this one...the neck caused so many issues i had to repair the finger board like 5 times as the neck mount screws became to long after dropping the neck well into the body..eeer didnt see that one coming but hey glad to know im still human!

Great sound, ultra clean lines and a departure from "the norm" I really like this creation.
Clever trick with the selector switch too I thought.
Do you find the control knobs' location convenient?

VanHaydn
19-03-2014, 07:42 AM
Thanx again Gents!

very nice to use its actually better than the normal setup as I set the trem arm in line with the strings as its a fully balanced system so if ya flick the arm you get this warble as it degenerates vibes and its a great affect so the arm gets in the way of the switches on a normal plate..
cheers
