Well here she is guys, my Jazzmaster in Paisley Print.

Originally was going to be plain black, had the initial coats on, when I stumbled across Fender's ST Paisley on there web site...and thought "now that's different". So things quickly changed.
It really tested me out this one, every step of the way. Everything from poor fitting neck pocket, trouble with timber expansion when wet sanding, dropping the body onto the shed floor (luckily onto the rubber floor mat), also a total sand back and restart of headstock because I was unhappy with it (way to picky), to name but a few...all requiring repair jobs. But we got there in the end, be it with a little less hair!!

Really happy with the end result, looks a lot better in the flesh...my snap shots don't do her justice.

Andy, that looks fantastic!
Is the paisley a print or transfer on the top and back?
Stunning result, love it

Andy, that is drop-dead gorgeous. What's not to love about it. It's an axe I would proudly show off. Well done!

That's really wicked - beautifully finished too.

Mee three wanna know how you did it, including what appears to be an airbrush burst?

Noice Andy , My guess is the Paisley is a print? if not you have done some serious masking off. either way bro that is god dam jaw dropping .

Paisley schmaisley ... holy cow that really works - paisley normally evokes dodgy 70's olive greens and oranges for me and when I saw the topic, I nearly passed this one up, but this looks darn hot! If it was up in a shop, I could see it being the one people are pulling down and playing!

Great job Andy - it looks fantastic.

Wow Andy, that looks amazing. You've hit it out of the park once again. This is a superb guitar, one that I would quite rightly kill for. An amazing job dude!

Cheers,
Gav.

Thanks guys for the comments, I'm really happy with this one.

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, but decided to go fishing yesterday.
Then after cleaning fish, throwing some in the smoker, and having a few beverages, it was all too late to answer you guys.

Yes, the paisley pattern is a print, but just the pattern, the burst is sprayed and then the whole thing clear coated and cut and polished. Once I had the vectored paisley pattern ready, I printed it onto metallic charcoal vinyl. Because it's metallic it changes colour slightly as the light reflects off it...very tasty!

Thanks again for your nice comments.

Cheers,
Andy

Dang Andy, you slay me! You've finished about 4 guitars in the time I've been working on one, and they've all been killers that far outshine my meager efforts.

@ Wokka
It's settling in well Wokka.

Got a bit of buzz at the first fret on the low E string.
I'm sure it's nothing that won't get sorted out when I do the proper setup and intonation, etc.

First guitar I've had like this with a 5 way switch and the 3 pickups...lots of options.
I reckon it's going to be great!!

That is a fantastic print! Did you adhere that vinyl to bare wood?

Probably because it's from way back in early 2014, over 3 years before you signed up here (and 2 1/2 before I did). Definitely a great looking guitar.
