I set out this morning to oil the fretboard of my STA-1. After applying the first coat of Behlen Fingerboard oil I noticed a machining/sanding mark running down the middle of the fretboard between the D and G strings from the fourth to seventh fret. Does any one have some clues on repairing this sort of damage. Jimmy Oastlre suggested mixing powdered rosewood with superglue. not sure about that as a cure.

That doesnt sound like a good option to me as you will always see the repair. Better option would be to attach some adhesive sandpaper to an ice-cream stick and work from 120 to 220 grit on the affected frets. That should sort it out. Don't press too hard and dont let the sandpaper get too hot. Excessive Force and friction are not your friends when it comes to working with sandpaper.
