Neck finish - Headstock & fretboard - Feast & Watson japan black, fretboard also has beeswax polish.
Tusq XL nut.
Custom handwound humbuckers - 7.76K neck and 8.26K bridge.
The rest is PBG hardware.
Missing - cream logo's and engraved neck plate (like my strat).

Enjoy.

Really love this LP Kane.

Outside LPs being my favourite guitars, I really love the colour and those racing stripes are a great touch. They really make it unique.

Thanks for the comments guys. Pretty much any other month I might have considered myself in with a shot, but personally I would pick each of the other entries over mine in a heartbeat. Ok guys here is my first Pit Bull build.
I own plenty of guitars with a beautiful gloss finish. This time I wanted the worn look.
Paint: white primer, grey base coat then DNA flat black.
Upgraded with some nice Seymour Duncans. I also customized the head-stock to give it more of an aggressive look.
Neck was finished with Amber Wudtone.
Very happy with the result. It also plays really nice.

I wasn't going to enter, but I figured I may as well show it off… it may not be a beauty like some of the others, but it is special to me.

TL-1A "G-special" (build diary (http://www.pitbullguitars.com/?page_id=42&mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=152#postid-1470))

The Alder body was originally plagued by worm holes that went full thickness, but rather than take up Adam's offer for a refund I decided to persevere with the build as a learning experience/experiment. The guitar is named in tribute to my father who passed away in the first months of the build. He had his own way of doing things, usually against advice and good judgement, and we would typically refer to the result, good or bad, as a 'G special'. Well, much of this build has been against good advice and better judgement and, as it's the only guitar he got to see me building, it's only fitting it be named in his honour. The "G-special".

Body finish: Wudtone Black Magic Woman and Goldenrod custom 'burst, Gold highlights, extra gloss non-ageing.
Neck finish: Wudtone Aged Vintage Yellow.

Upgrades/Modifications:

Wilkinson compensated bridge
Gotoh tuners and string-thu ferrules
GFS Lil' Puncher XL pickups (Cool Vintage version)
500KA push/pull Alpha pots
Grigsby 4 pole 5 way superswitch
Paper in Oil cap (0.047uF)
Over-sized strap buttons
Roller string-trees
Electrosocket mount with a Switchcraft jack
Recessed neck plate
Copper shielding
Custom pickguard and bone nut
Black Mother of Pearl fretboard dots and headstock inlay
String-thru body with recessed ferrules
Custom wiring

Push/pull pots allow series/parallel coil switching for each pickup, and the 5 way superswitch provides the following options:
Bridge, Bridge & Neck (parallel out of phase), Bridge & Neck (parallel in phase), Bridge & Neck (series in phase), Neck.

Bazinga,

Judges, you have your work cut out for you this month. I think the quality and creativity of your loyal customers is increasing so fast. This forums members are always happy to share techniques, ideas and honest feedback. You should be proud of providing a place to share a great hobby (or business).

Fellow GOTM entrants. All the best for each of your sweet looking guitars. Thanks for your support and free advice. I enjoy being able to share details, ask questions and appreciate the ease some of you provide solutions to problems.

On a side note. I have been desiring a strat since I was young enough to appreciate fine tunes by such artists as Clapton, Knofler, Stevie Ray and others. I finally built one - platinum brother (couldn't afford a real one). Let me tell you however I have been caught off guard by how much I love the sound of the LP-1P kit (with my own custom pickups). I also appreciate it's lightness. Almost to say that it kicks arse over the strat. I never thought I would say that. Matched with the tubescreamer clone I built, this guitar rocks out. I have borrowed my brothers line 6 sonic kit so I should be able to record some higher quality tunes. Just need to practice more somewhat for better finger abilities. Oh, and repossess the guitar, I loaned it to my brother, he wants to keep it by the sounds. He loaned the strat since Christmas but loves the LP so much more.

Happy building.

Just so you all know.... I hate all of you for building such BEAUTIFUL guitars! you have given me ulcers and a brain attack trying to judge these gorgeous, sexy and oh so expertly built and finished works of art. Each one of you deserve to win, and in my mind you are all winners. Thank you for sharing these builds with us...

Ok, the results are in...

Congratulations to all eleven entrants this month, it was a particularly tough one to judge.

Second runner up is:

Gavin Turner’s JR-1DC

"The quality of finish here is just superb Gav, beautiful down to the very last detail.
Your level of experience is really starting to show through.
Good colour choice and the pickguard you have chosen gives it a real unique feel. Wonderful effort."

"I would kill to have this guitar in my collection."

First runner up is:

Gavin Bramley's HB-4 Baritone

"The level of finish on this is just incredible, Gavin.
The attention to detail is brilliant and shows the huge amount of time and care that must have been devoted to it.
A great conversion that has been superbly executed. Oozes class!"

"Great work, something a little different and well finished."

And, the Winner of February Guitar of the Month is:

PabloPepper's PBH-4

"Wow...I really like this. The green is a revelation, and with the black hardware, it has huge wow factor.
The build quality you have achieved looks fantastic. It has real mass appeal, while still maintaining its own individuality. Excellent stuff, Pablo."

"This one is special. I've been around guitars my whole life and I have never seen a bass (or guitar) in this colour... it is original and it works! It doesn't hurt that the finish and assembly is flawless. I can't fault this one."

"Wow beautiful, great colour. Doesn't look like a pretender to me. I would pick this up in a shop."

Well done Craig (PabloPepper)!

Woohoo! Another winner bass. Feel sorry for the judges and I think Gav will be putting something up every month from now - the quality is so high and the competition so fierce that it must be getting impossible to pick a winner.

Congratulations Pablo, the two Gavins and indeed all entrants.
This was the hardest month to judge, there is just so little in it these days.
11 entrants as well, a huge month!!
All the builds really do look like they are straight off the guitar shop wall.
As DB said, its enough to give you ulcers...
Well done to all.

Wow. Thanks guys. So totally unexpected, I had Kane's lp picked as a sure thing. I started with very different plans for this one but I'm very pleased with how it's ended up. Will have to get around to putting a demo together.

Hello all!
My name is Jacob and I am 14 years old. I have recently finished the minor touch ups and completed my first build! I am quite pleased with it, and thought that I should share it with you. It's a TL-1HA kit, I used a wudtone emerald isles green finish on the body, and carnauba wax on the neck.
Hope you all like it,
Jacob

P.s. I hope that I am posting this the right way.

Sweet looking axe bro, unfortunately I think you're 12 months too late with this GOTM.
Go enter that beautiful guitar here man...

Maybe one of the Mods could alter the titles for these old GOTM threads to include the year like the current ones are, it could help with future searches too.

The guitar looks great Jacob, well done.
