Morning from "sunny" Maryland USA! I just got my ES-1GL my GF got me for Christmas...looking forward to putting it all together! (And I apologize in advance of asking a bunch of newbie/dumb questions!)

I'm thinking orange sunburst finish with an aging high gloss finish. Are there any videos on how to do the sunburst without a paint booth?

Thanks!

Andrew

Yes there are, if you go to youtube and search on Wudtone sunburst you should find a two part video.

Welcome along Andrew. No dumb questions here mate. All bar a few on the forum are very rough novices when it comes to guitar making. I've just completed my second and am learning constantly as you work through issues with the guitar.

G'day Andrew and welcome to the madness.

Mate, there are no dumb questions, only dumb answers. As Brendan said, most of us here are just beginners having a great time trying to build guitars. If you take your time and enjoy yourself it can be a most rewarding hobby.

Now, start a build diary, take lots of photos, ask lots of questions, and make yourself a geetah.

Cheers
rob

Sweet! Thanks! Can someone tell me what type of wood is on the ES-1G? I see there's a maple neck, but I don't see the type of wood in the description. (told you I'm a newb!)

I am pretty sure it's basswood.
