Here is my test run of my latest build.

Stock form aside from the tusq nut. Doing this as I will be adding my custom pickups tomorrow and wanted something to compare it to along with letting you all hear what a paulownia LP kit sounds like.

Recorded with Garage Band with basic "classic clean & classic crunch" settings.

More to follow.

Well here is the updated recording. Keep in mind this is a garage band amp not a real one - sounds different.
Anyhow crank it up on a good stereo or with some decent headphones and compare the difference.

I need to record the crunch version again because the output was different.

Pickup differences: stock neck 11K, my wind 7.76K, stock bridge 12K, mine 8.25K. Finally found a bridge pickup I like.

I will post an updated sound recording shortly. Will actually record with my iPhone in front of my amp instead of using the garage band setup. It is a clearer more true representation of how it all sounds.

I have finally finished my tube screamer clone and I love it.

Here it is minus a paint job.

That box looks pretty cool. Did you source the parts yourself or was it a kit?

I purchased a tonepad circuit card (took a while to come from the states), grabbed components from jaycar and did the rest at home.
I have since located a better parts supplier that should bring costs down to around $40 delivered depending on the amp chip required.
Not bad for a home brewed TS808 tube screamer clone with an extra mod to give you a boost for distortion.

Check out prices online for a tube screamer or a clone.

nice work on the pedal Kane. You pups sound warmer and a bit fuller - nice work

Thanks Stan,
I find that the amps on the garage band setup seem to add a little mush. The guitar loses some clarity somehow. I am keen to re-record just with my iPhone and my real amp (and the new stomp box). That is until I get an irig or something.

Cheers

Well I got a spare moment to record with my setup just with the good old iphone.

Guitar - LP1P with both pickups in action.
Amp - Ashton GA clean channel at low volume.
TS808 with Drive 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% then with boost mod active.
Tone knob at 90% and Level around 30%

Next recording is with the TS clone with following setup:
Drive at 85%, Tone 90% and Level 30%.
Guitar is clean to begin with, neck pickup first, both then bridge. Repeated with TS on and finally again with boost on.

Sorry for the repetition and lower quality recording.
