Looking at the wires - hard to see, but from what I can see you have a white, red, black, green and bare wire. The white and red are twined together and the black, green and bare are separate.

If this is the case you have a coil split humbucker which means it can run as a single coil (e.g., typical thin pickup on a strat see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_coil_pickup) or as a dual coil humbucker (e.g., Gibson SG see also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humbucker). While there are a range of tone options, the simplest way to wire this baby up will be through this diagram: http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-content/uploads/pdf/PBG-2Hum2Pot%20v2.pdf. Leave the white and red wires together, however wrap them in electrical tape / heatshrink to make sure they don't short. Do the same for bridge and neck pups and you should be sweet. It should be a killer axe...

What colours are you planning on using? I'd go for the staining / spraying / etc. now and save electronics for later in the build.

Cheers Brendan. I was planning on finishing before wiring, that seemed to me like the best option,
I am gonna do the neck in the Wudtone Vintage Amber and the body and front of the headstock in a Feast & Watson Mahogany, it looks to be a nice deep red so should look sweet on the light timber.
As for MORE builds, my daughter has already requested a Les Paul 6 string!!!
