Does anyone have experience working with both and know the difference between the overall sound quality and finish

First of all these are kit guitars and you get to choose and finish the guitar yourself in whatever medium you choose. Hence the finish is entirely up to you.
In so far at the pickups are concerned they are not world beaters but then you arent paying $1600 for the kit either. Depending on the quality of the amp you are planning on playing your guitar through will also have an influence on the sound and we believe that if you use wudtone for your finish that this also has a positive impact on your tone and therefore the sound of the guitar.
If you go to PITBULL guitars our youtube Channel you can hear some demo's of our PBG pickups. As far as the guitars are concerned I have built both and they both sound great. Not much to tell in terms of which is better or worse than the other. They are both pretty decent guitars.
