It's here! Thank you to Adam for making this happen!

Firstly I notice there is yet again a remarkable flame stripe on the top, which will be gorgeous with a cherry to black burst... Which is the initial plan, subject to change....

Also, and how cool is this, there is a thin binding inside the f- holes! Class!

My only concern at this stage is the headstock, which is very narrow and only juuuuuuuuust accommodates the machine heads. It's no real biggie, but once I am relocated the first job will be to see if I can make them work with the ferrules in place or if I need to replace the supplied pegs.

The only bummer is I can't get started on this one straight away. Athena and Gollum will both have to wait until I have moved house, so back in the box she goes....for now... :(

looks awesome Bass Guy, should look amazing in black/cherry burst, you must be devo you have to pack her up again. The standard ES kits have binding inside the F holes. Love the bridge is very sexy.
Can't wait to see this beast evolve, this better be the 1st box you unpack in your new house.
Good luck with the move. I'll tee up a bass lesson sometime if the offer is still there. Cheers

Oh yes the offer stands, but it's looking like a New Year proposition at present.

Looks bloody awesome bass guy! Can't wait to get my hands on mine - should have it next weekend. The binding in the f-hole is fantastic news - I had my fingers crossed. Adam has outdone himself with this model! :D

Good luck with the move!

Cheers,
Gavin.

Great looking bass.. Its a shame you cant get started yet its a fun build.
I too have the same problem with the head gear but have got some ideas pooling

I want these basses to very cool. I'm not crazy enough to try and build one, but maybe one day I will be. They definitely are the sort of bass I wish I owned.

Wow...that does look tasty Bass Guy.
The flame looks fairly pronounced too, should pop nicely with the cherry red.
My ES-1GT also has the F hole binding...it does finish it off just nicely.
Things do look a little tight up the headstock end though, hey!

yes it looks like its a standard width guitar headstock, should be a tad wider to fit the machine heads square on. Sure Bass Guy you will work it out. The factory never seem to check these things like if inline size tuning mechanisms will fit a 2 + 2 configuration headstock. All the drill holes of the body other than the bridge look identical to the ES guitar.

The more modern "sealed" gear tuners are significantly smaller and would fit easily.

But, yeah, I don't know how well they would suit this style of bass. Damn sweet looking kit though.

those tuners would look ok Pablo but for an old classic style ES the naked gearwheel and thread and chunk of the supplied tuners would set off the look. From memory these are the same tuners on the PBH-4 model, they look great on a Fender headstock

Hmm fair enough Wokka. When I heard about be space issues I ordered a set of these for my kit. But you might be right about the look.
Oh well, at least I have options ;).

Cheers,
Gavin.
