Love it, and live by it- most of the time.... ;)

Number 7 especially is one that many players tend to overlook.

Rule 9.... Does changing strings from one Bass to another count?

Hear ye brothers, the words of St Tim the Sagacious, for verily they be wise and truthful.

Blessed be the player of the bass, for his is the kingdom of the beat ... to rule well and attain glory

... or rule poorly and receive a "kingdom-ing" from his brother band-fellows :D

Forgive me brother for I doth lust after a 6 sting devoid of frets. What will be my penance?

I have no idea where you pulled that line from, Tim, but I'm still chuckling.

Hmmm! I thought I knew most of the lines from The Holy Grail. But that one slipped by me. Wots not to laugh at with Monty? No wonder I was chuckling.

Not sure if I entirely agree with #3, in my experience if a drummer has shit timing unfortunately your locked into that beat no matter how good your timing is.
And I reckon (#6) picks have their place on the occasion when added attack is needed, otherwise pretty spot on!

Definitely agree with you on #3. The bass is 'supposed' to drive the beat/tempo but you can't cut through the sound like a snare does and you just get hijacked. Sad but true.

Number 3? Easy solutions are available.
1. Use a drum machine, that way you only need to punch the info in once.
2. Get a bigger, louder Bass rig and drown out the drummer :)

LOL. Love number two. I see no fault in your logic.

yes option 2 gets my vote DB - drown out the drummer with bad timing !
