Ok, so I ordered a PRS and some Wudtone, gave careful instructions with my order as per below!
http://pitbullguitars.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/cy9k6-concho.gif

But still I have ended up with Concho Girl (Pink)...strange thou because my order was for Carmine Gypsy and the colour looks suspiciously like Carmine Gypsy...... I smell a rat.....or should that be a Dingo! ;)

I'm now, understandably, terrified to look!

Ok - now I'm crancky!

But on the bright side I didn't have to pay for the fretless arrangement.....

Had no idea what to do with the Concho Pink that Evil DingoBass sent me...then I walked outside to mull it over and an idea came to me when I saw this....

Now it has been said that Wudtone goes a long way and that you can spread it on really thinly, so again I thought to myself. "I wonder if it could....."
Then I figured, "Why wouldn't I try it to see if it is indeed true..."
As you can see from the picture below, it's fantastic! And the engine has better tone than ever before. Knowing how excited the owner of the vehicle would be about this I left DB's business card (which was in the envelope with the Concho Pink), so that the owner would know exactly who was responsible for this wonderful product.

In fact, the local police are impressed too, there were a whole bunch of them admiring the colour. The owner looked really happy too, he was jumping around and gesturing excitedly! DB, you can expect some calls....

Haha nice one Gav, you could always put a fresh coat on DB's pink tricycle ?

somehow in your pics Gav the pink limo turned into an older Ford model !

Gavin1393
11-06-2013, 06:44 AM
...and the windows changed too....!! But don't tell DB! I'm hoping he won't notice....

wokkaboy

you wouldn't get a limo down DB's driveway whatever colour it was, would bottom out !

yes I noticed the pink limo has an extra window pillar !

maybe your next project Gav can be a pink acoustic ?

Don't say that too loud, last Christmas I was asked how long it would take me to make a Pink "Hannah Montanna" guitar because this ex-friend of mine had started her Christmas shopping too late and the stores were sold out....Neanderthals!

Conversation went along these lines:
"Hey, Gav, shops are sold out on Pink Hannah Montanna guitars and my 6 year old wants one for Xmas. How long would it take you to make me one."
"Not too long, about three weeks, but are you sure your budget can handle a hand crafted guitar?"
"oh, well how much does it cost to do a hand crafted guitar?"
"About $1.800 for the wood and the parts and that doesn't take into account 100 hours of labour!"
"$#@&, I was hoping to pay about $99"

Like I said, bloody Neanderthals....and hence the ex-friend comment!

Really Gav is that what acoustic parts cost and about 100 hours ? That's scared me off !

yer understand why she is an ex friend - won't get much for $99 !

It depends on what wood you are using and the quality of the tuners to a large extent.
A really nice piece of wood can set you back $350 - $400, AAAA grade top between $150 and $200, then there's the $140 just to ship it here. There's $690 right there. A pre-shaped neck with an ebony or rosewood fretboard fretboard and you are looking at another $200, quality tuners another $100 - $150. Now add all the extra's, MOP inlays, Wood Binding Strips, Saddles, Bridge, Nuts, FretWire, Purfing, Strings, End Blocks, Neck Blocks, Sandpaper, Sandpaper, Sandpaper, more Sandpaper, Hide Glue, Wood Glue, Body Filler, Wudtone, more Sandpaper, inlay Dots, Fret Position Markers, not forgetting the sandpaper, razor blades, rags, Braces for the top and braces for the back of the guitar, back strips, pickups, strap holders, scratch plate and sandpaper......

No, i was careful, buffed them off with the buffer. But i must tell you the hardest part was routing the channel for the inlay in the front bonnet.....

DB - how'd you get the dark fretlines? Was thinking to go fretless with the next build, but not white...

Hey Brendan, that photo was Gav messing around! :)
Now, to answer your question, to get black fret lines you will only need to source some thin black plastic to fill the fret grooves...

Got me!
Figure it looks like 1/2 mm wide - looking for cream... ebay, where are you...

Apparently looks something like this...
