Why Wench, I hear you ponder? Well, it's a mahogany body which will be finished in Carmine Gypsy....and I have always had a thing for redheads... ;) she was called Lady Babe for a while, but the amount of swearing I indulged in during sanding prompted a re-name...

This is the kit my folks got me for my birthday, so we'll be a little more attentive to detail on this one...

First of all, shaping the headstock is nearly done. A bit rough at the moment, but you get the idea...

Slightly unorthodox tuner placement. Stolen from Warwick basses...

Now, now, BassGuy! Keep it clean! Us mods are a lazy bunch and don't want to have to protect a young man's innocence. :)

bugger that is my biggest fear to spill the wudtone bottles, I always replace the cap between top ups of the container.

1 coat of carmine looks deep enough anyway

Hopefully you won't do that again Bass Guy !

Also hope it didn't make a mess of the tiles !

Didn't your wife always want a red kitchen?

Bass Guy
31-05-2013, 03:17 AM
Er yeah....the tiles... It's gonna be a challenge to explain that one....

Most of it came off but a bit more elbow grease/strong solvents are required...you can see in the pics what it did to the table....

nice touch to the table, bit of carmine on the table will always be a reminder of this guitar !

Just explain that the 'blood stains' are from an intruder who you valiantly subdued while protecting house and occupants.

Yeah! I'd go with Scott's story, she may be less likely to punish you since you have already taken out the intruder!

I spilt Black magic woman on the tiles. Washed off the tiles OK but was very hard to get out of the grout.
