Hey Guys, new at this stuff.

So I've taken some photos of my build so far with the mobile phone and the pictures are about 1.2 MBs 8O

What would be a good size to reduce them to for posting in the forums? Is it just the size or the dimensions that is critical?

Thanks for any help
rob

Try posting them, if they won't post, reduce them to 500x400 pixels and try

FWIW, I've posted some very high resolution pics to the forum, which seem to work well one at a time, but not so well two or three at a time. There doesn't seem to be a site-imposed limit, but to be kind to the proprietor (server space and all that) it might be nice to keep them manageable, and I would put 1.2m in that class.

Thanks Callum and Glenn, I've done a bit of jiggery pokery in MS Paint and its quite simple to reduce the size of the files, not sure about pixel count though.

I'm not too concerned about Hi-res, because I'm not going for a show pony finish. I've already got a plan 'B' if I screw it up too badly, it's called "relicing" lol

Cheers guys

Hey guys, FWIW, I tend to make my pics 1000 pixels across and at 72dpi; anything greater than that is wasted as that's the standard screen res.

If anyone has trouble with the image attach function, you can always use an image hosting site like www.Imgur.com to host your pics. Then you can just post the links (using the "link" buttin in the message menu).

If you're really stuck, just email me the pics and I will host on our website and post onto the forum myself.

Hi Brett, use the "reply to" button at the top or bottom of the page rather than the "quick reply". Pictures should be around 300 to 600k.
