First Coat on my SG (Won on Action after making a flippant bid and forgetting about it!)

This is going to look sensational if I do it justice!

Out of curiosity Gavin, are you going to be staining the neck? I'm trying to decide what to do with my kit. On one hand, I think that continuing the body colour up would look better, since it's a set neck, but Andy from Wudtone doesn't recommend using the normal colours on maple necks, which is what I believe the SG1 comes with?

Hi Stui

I have already started on the neck. This is being done "Colourless" which will preserve the current wood colour. Going really well so far. I am doing a Tele with Vintage Amber. Also looks great but I prefered the Green / clear combo for this one.

Here is the progress on the body - 3rd coat.

I'm very interested to find out how the finish turned out on this build (and your others too for that matter)

I really like this guitar, but I'm thinking there might be a few contenders for GOTM this month. I was going to ask Andy from Wudtone to be our special guest judge this time (otherwise I might make some enemies).

Get your entries (photos) in by March 5 (Monday!)

Nice of the State to recognize my birthday with a Public Holiday! If anyone's thinking of getting me something, don't... but if you can all purchase a kit plus some Wudtone on Monday, that would make my day :D

Haha, no worries! Actually, If I'm lucky, I might be able to get some sandpaper and sand the kit over the weekend and I might actually get the Wudtone on Monday!!! That's if I'm lucky!
