Hey team,

I am not sure where this should be posted, but figure this is as good a spot as any. I have recently wrapped up a semi-scratch build, where I made a pickguard and jack plate out a self-made ply (4 layers of veneers glued together). It turned out OK, but I don't really like the colours of the pickguard against the body timber. I think something a little more retro would look way better, which brings me to my question.

Does anyone know where to get less common coloured pickguard sheets (baby blue, shell pink etc)? From my searches on StewMac, Amazon etc, the best I can find is mint green, and a few pearloids. Alternatively, does anyone know of a good Australian supplier for PVC or something similar that is not marketed specifically for pickguards but would still be suitable?

Thanks in advance

I had good luck on ebay with various colour choices. I'll see if I can dredge up a link or two.

40 colours (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/40-Colors-Guitar-Bass-Pickguard-Blank-Material-Sheet-Scratch-Plate-430x290x2-3mm-/383250981016?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0) to choose from

There should be more in related links. They're from China so will take a little while, but postage is cheap.

Unsure about Australian only suppliers or stock sorry.

If you can't find the colours you want, you could always consider using a clear acrylic sheet and spraying the back of it with your desired colour. It won't be slightly flexible like PVC will, but it could work for flat surfaces.

Thanks for the responses. I must be overly picky (pun intended), because none of the ebay listings leapt out at me. I might go with Simon's suggestions if all else fails.

Since you've already made a pickguard you don't like, maybe just paint that one. You know it fits already.

Not an Australian supplier, but I have had good luck with this guy in Oregon. You ought to at least be able to find a color you like...
