Hi all , I’m finishing up the body on my first build ....it’s been quite a journey of learning from my mistakes but it’s nearly there
Anyway I’ve polished through a small area of the clear coat and I’m wondering I can mask and re clear the section of if I have to redo the whole back. ( it’s between the cavity and edge of body)

Appreciate any advice thankshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200927/d5d2b66605d308e901bc522175552e3d.jpg

Yes that will be fine, but you'll need to clean off all of the polish from that area using a wax and grease remover. Then mask off a larger area than you want to spray, when you spray feather the edge a little, you don't want a hard line from the masking if that makes sense. Let it completely cure (so you cannot smell any solvents from it at all) then work on that area till it blends with the rest of the finish. Using the same clear it should blend perfectly.

Also should have mentioned to lightly scuff the surface with a high grade sandpaper as well as using the wax and grease remover. Being the same product it should bond fine, but it's a good idea to give it something to grab too so it doesn't flake off down the road.

Use soft edge tape or roll the masking tape to provide a soft edge. It makes it much easier to blend.
