Hey there,
My real name is Chris but I produce and perform under the name Sam Square, I'm about to release an EP so feel free to follow me on Spotify -or whatever- for a taste of my music...
I'm about to enter into the world of DIY guitars thanks to the most awesome Christmas pressie from my wife! - It's a Jag/Jazzmaster style Baritone kit. I'm really keen to add some nice brooding, soulful tones to my music and can't wait to see how a barri will add a new flavour to my songrwiting (vocally, I tend to spend much time in the lower register so that should be interesting).
My current guitar collection consists of a Fender mexi roadworn Tele, which is my main stage guitar for it's lightweightness, super-playability and lovely soft tone (I play almost exclusively on the neck pickup). A '91 Gibson LP Studio, which I've owned since new (betraying my age a bit here) It's got that classic Les Paul tone but as it's a pre-filler model it weighs as much as a horse so I rarely play it live. I also have a lovely early 90's Seagull 12 string acoustic, a couple of everyday 6 strings and a cheap but nasty (in a good way) Kramer bass.
I am a little daunted by the prospect of building my own guitar and I'm still not quite sure where to start. I'd like the thing to look nice but tone and playability are far more important to me so I'm sure I'll be using this forum heaps to point me in the right direction...
