    IB-1 Body repair

Further to my previous post, it turns out the issue lies with the body of the IB-1. A few of the units were not routed deeply enough. I was advised to try and reduse the thickness, which I was not comfortable with. As careful as I was, my worst fears eventuated.Click image for larger version.

Any ideas as far as Toggle switch plates or pick guards available, to repair it without ordereing a body and spending more money on paint?

So that's the front of the body? Is it the toggle switch? You could perhaps use a treble/rhythm ring like a les Paul does which might cover the damage, its hard to see the size in that photo

That's not a bad idea, can we get a zoomed out pic as well?

Strat blade selector switch setup.....might need a small plate made up from a pick guard off cut and screw down from on top. Alternatively a bit of timber veneer could do the same thing and maybe painted to match or in a contrasting colour?

Looks like a possible solution. I just wish they had the dimensions on there. Same with some of the 5 way switches.

It looks pretty close to the Ibanez 5-way top mounting switch plate here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IBANEZ-S-...-/202471260092

Though you might be best looking for a real Ibanez one.

Looks like that might do the job. Dimensions look good. Now I have to find one closer to home with cheaper freight options. :-)

I played around with trying to get one of these sorted on an Orphan kit I got from Tony. I ended up giving the blade switch away, filling the slot with a rosewood remnant from re-boarding the neck and putting in an on/on/on mini switch.
